"Aspirations guide behaviour..."

Why is it that we wait until crisis to administer a cure?

There is so much that can be done proactively for the betterment of population health across the board.

For those with mental and long-term physical health conditions, chronic illness, and those within the ageing population, prevention is oftentimes the cure.

How much of the trauma inflicted on the individual has stemmed from unchecked social institutions?

We now know that stress and trauma contribute to most if not all mental health conditions, including addiction, and also factor into many chronic illnesses as well.

So why are we allowing this abuse of the individual to continue? Why are we allowing productivity pressure and the inflated expectations of a rat race to continue to dominate when we know these to be detrimental?

Within capitalism, competition coupled with the commodification of the individual has proven untenable.

It is time to place care and mutual aid above the rest.

It is plain to see that the current system struggles to account for many of the most basic elements of social well-being; corruption, profiteering, and human and animal rights violations have come to not only expected but also tragically accepted.

So how is it possible to shift those attitudes which are still holding onto a toxic system?

Do we put the onus on the individual to behave better?

That hardly seems fair when the individual is already the victim of the predatory structure which is set-up to prevent from being able to work outside of it...

So do we approach the seemingly endless array of world institutions to suggest adopting a new code?

Well, there are some organisations which already offer this, and while these are helpful to an extent, at the end of the day it is up to the leaders of the current industries to make the shift within themselves.

We know for certain that these attitudes naturally evolve and adapt with time, whether from new information and resultant shifts in industry, or through new discoveries, social movements, and mediums... So how do we teach a new value system without disrupting the present or causing panic amongst laymen and leaders alike?

The solution VIE proposes is to utilise play as a means of teaching a new, healthier concept of purpose to those in power and leadership positions, as well as to heal trauma in the individual.

This practice of "co-playing" would then inform the development of a new social code and set of industry standards to be upheld by individuals and institutions alike, acting as the basis for better social care and increased connection as the "Caremore Programme." The consistency of these codes and resultant care would serve as consistency for those in need and it is through enrolment in the programme that individuals gain access to the first and most basic level of "UBI" / social stipend.

Play is vital to the human psyche; it teaches, heals, and inspires us while bringing lightheartedness and joy.

Without play and its expression of purpose, our world is devoid of the compassion we so need at this time.
