Earth

The Earth has long been characterised as Gaia; the Goddess encompassing both light and dark; the generative matrix, and our Great Mother from whom all unconsciousness springs forth...

The earth symbolises those familiar aspects of the physical ecology, as well as the attributes of stability, femininity, and the necessity of hard limits as made manifest by the finite nature of those physical resources required to maintain the sphere’s autopoiesis.

Macauley states: ‘it is earth-boundedness and earth-bondedness that gives us our corporeal shape (…)’ and from here we can understand that we are interdependent in both the sharing of the physical resources of the planet as well as in the shared experience of the human form which we inhabit as beings.
